Preshow Info

CYAG also offers a “Preshow” for kids ages 4 to 7. This is a great way to introduce the younger kids to theater. Each year they do a 15-minute show prior to our main show, and get to experience the excitement of wearing make-up and costumes, as well as performing before a live audience in a theater.

They will work with a professional director/choreographer each Saturday morning from 10 am to 12 noon. Preshow kids do not need to audition, they begin the same day rehearsals for the main show start, this year it is January 23rd. All rehearsals are held in Fogel Hall at the Cheverly United Methodist Church at 2801 Cheverly Avenue, Cheverly, MD 20785.

For each rehearsal session, girls are required to wear a black leotard and black tights (plus black sweat pants or yoga pants if it's still cold). Boys are required to wear black tees, black sweat pants & black socks. Everyone must wear black jazz shoes to prevent slipping and falling. They must bring water to drink and they can bring a light protein snack and some juice for their break time - no sweets of any kind are allowed.

The fee for participating in the preshow is $140.00, which includes a free tee-shirt and covers approximately 15 weeks of dance and music instruction. A DVD of the show is also available for an additional fee.
